FAQ

  • What is nitrile?/What are nitrile gloves? Nitrile is a synthetic rubber derived from acrylonitrile (ACN) and butadiene. It’s puncture-resistant, unusually resistant to oil, fuel, and other chemicals, and is a popular allergy-free alternative to latex.
  • What’s the difference between latex and nitrile gloves? Is nitrile latex-free? Ah, the great nitrile vs. latex gloves question. Latex is a naturally occuring rubber that has been known to cause allergic reactions, while nitrile is made of inorganic, synthetic materials derived from petroleum. It is largely preferred over latex due to allergy concerns, and have become the standard in hospitals. While nitrile is more puncture-resistant, tear-resistant, and oil-repellent than latex, it is not biodegradable. And that’s where Glubbs come in!
  • Why are you The Responsible Glove™? We are among the first sustainable gloves ever made. Being conscious of our environmental footprint is what inspired the Glubbs brand. For that reason, our gloves use a proprietary chemical mix that allows them to break down much faster in anaerobic conditions than typical nitrile gloves. We’ve cut the timeline of biodegradability down from 300 years to 5.
  • Are Glubbs reusable? Glubbs are single-use, as we feel this promotes the safety and sanitation of the product.
      1. Are Glubbs plant-based? Nope.  Nitrile is a man-made rubber made from a synthetic polymer produced from a copolymer of acrylonitrile and butadiene.
      2. Are Glubbs vegan? Of course. Glubbs are 100% vegan. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
      3. Are Glubbs food grade and medical grade? You bet. Nitrile is the preferred glove material of the medical industry, and are popular in food service as well.
      4. Are Glubbs BPA free? Heck yes. Unlike vinyl gloves, nitrile gloves are BPA, phthalate and latex free
      5. Do Glubbs come in different sizes? Yes they do! Glubbs are available in small, medium, large and extra large.
  • How long does it take them to decompose? 5 years.
    1. Are they okay for sensitive skin? Yes! Because they’re nitrile rather than latex, you won’t have the same allergic reaction to the amino acids in latex. Nitrile, being a synthetic rubber, mitigates that.
    2. Where are Glubbs made? Glubs are proudly produced in the beautiful nation of Malaysia.
    3. Where do you ship to? We ship everywhere in the United States and Canada. We hope to internationally expand and get Glubbs on hands all over the world.
    4. What is your return policy? We’re sure you’ll love Glubbs, but if you don’t, you can send them back for a full refund up to 30 days after your purchase. However, you have to cover the shipping charges.
